‘Australia ne India ka satya naash kar diya’ – Australia all over India after Day 2 of Ahmedabad Test match
Australia have dominated for the second consecutive day at Ahmedabad. The Kangaroos ended Day 1 on 255-4. Usman Khawaja was unbeaten on 104 off 252 balls and Cameron Green was unbeaten on 49 off 64 balls. The duo stitched a wonderful partnership of 208 on Day 2 and continued the hard work that they had done on Day 1. Khawaja converted his innings into a cracking knock of 180 off 422 balls with 21 fours. The 36-year-old displayed a combination of stroke play and determination and played a classical Test match innings.
Green on the other hand got to a half-century and then converted into his maiden Test match hundred as the Australian all-rounder made 114 off 170 balls with 18 fours. The Kangaroos then piled on the misery after Ravichandran Ashwin had defied all odds and taken 6-91. Todd Murphy and Nathan Lyon scored some valuable runs down the order. Lyon scored 34 off 96 balls with six fours and Murphy scored 41 off 61 balls with five fours.
Nathan Lyon made a 50 plus partnership and helped Australia get to 480 at Ahmedabad
These contributions allowed Australia to get to 480 in the first innings. For India, the pacers were ineffective with the ball as Mohammed Shami picked up 2-134 in his 31 overs. Ravindra Jadeja picked up 1-89 in his 35 overs. Axar Patel picked up 1-47 in his 28 overs. Umesh Yadav was ineffective with the ball and sprayed a lot of wide ones.
In the second innings, India escaped unscathed as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill made 17 with two fours and 18 with one four and one six. India ended the day with 36 for 0 and were trailing by 444 runs. The Indian bowlers barring Ashwin were largely non penetrating and could not pick wickets which allowed Australia to get to a big total.
India were not able to bowl well on an Ahmedabad pitch where it was flat and the ball was not doing much. The only positive for them was not losing a wicket at the end of the second day’s play. Australia have dented India’s confidence with the win at Indore and now have done the same so far.
Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter

India bowled out Aussies for 480
Ravichandran Ashwin was the star performer with 6/91 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. @Uz_Khawaja (180) & Cameron Green (114) were magnificent for the Aussies .
In the lower order, Lyon (34) & Murphy (41) batted pretty well . #BorderGavaskarTrophy2023 #INDvAUS

To almost call it a day, it's a sixer from #ravichandranashwin but as a bowler that brings India finally to bat.#INDvAUS #BorderGavaskarTrophy2023

Indian men's cricket team WTC finals ticket is on the verge from "Confirmation" to "RAC". Although plenty of time left in the test match but when opposition scored 480 in first innings its extremely difficult to win. #BorderGavaskarTrophy2023 #INDvAUS4thTest #INDvAUS

Impeccable bowling performance from @ashwinravi99 on a flat track tells you about his worth & caliber he brings into test cricket.
With figures of 6/91, Ashwin picked up his 32nd 5fer .
He has the most wickets by an Indian in BGT History.#BorderGavaskarTrophy2023 #INDvsAUS

That's 480 for AUS nd scoreline will be read as 2-1 or 2-2. 70 to 100+ was above par puts IND to down. Green innings was turning point nd Usman hold other edge. Poor bowling stuff frm IND Bowlers. Nothing innovative on flat pitches#INDvAUS #BorderGavaskarTrophy2023#TeamIndia https://t.co/xhstWRfFfJ
