The fourth ODI between South Africa and Australia saw the madness of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. The former, in particular, played one of the most freaking innings in the history of ODIs. Despite not having a great start, South Africa managed to score 420 runs in their 20 overs, thanks to the lower middle order duo of Klaasen and Miller. The duo entertained the crowd with their batting range.

Batting first, South Africa had a slow start. Quinton De Kock, Reeza Hendricks, and Rassie Van Der Dussen could not get going in the first 20 overs of the match. In fact, the score of the home side was just 194/4 till the 35th over. In the last 92 balls, South Africa scored a whopping 222 runs! The level of destruction in the phase is simply hard to describe. Klaasen and Miller were in a different level in the middle.

Klaasen smashed the spinner for fun. But the attack on the Pacers was so brutal. All the pacers were hammered on a tricky wicket. With the progression of the match, the wicket got better. Klaasen showed how one can transform from a great T20 batter to a great ODI batter. the South African has been scoring runs for fun in T20 leagues across the world.

Unreal finishing from David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen

The confidence in scoring runs in these leagues has helped Klaasen immensely. The wicketkeeper batter is now capable of batting well against spinners, which was not the case before. That makes him a more destructive batter than he already was. The stay of Klaasen in the middle was nothing short of a hell for the bowlers. The fans would have remembered Ab De Villiers in this innings.

It was so brutal in the middle. Along with Miller, Klaasen was involved in a 222-run partnership for the fifth wicket which came in just 94 balls! Klaasen scored 174 runs in 83 balls, which included 13 fours and sixes each. 130 runs came from the boundaries alone. The knock of Klaasen came at a batting strike rate of 209.64, which sums up everything.
