Kevin Pietersen took to Twitter to talk about a clip from a Test match at Lords that happened in 2011. In that game, MS Dhoni bowled his military medium pace and got Kevin Pietersen out caught behind. The decision was then referred to and was overturned by the umpire. Pietersen took to Twitter to talk about it and said that he was not MS Dhoni’s first test wicket. MS Dhoni and Pietersen have played together in the IPL for Rising Pune Super Giant.

I’m actively seeking the clip from the Test match at Lords to put to bed all these claims that I WAS Dhoni’s first Test Wicket. I hate to break it to you – I WASN’T!
“I think but now at the end of your career, there is one thing, just that one thing. You never got me out. It was referred at Lords’ and the continuous stick that I get from you and your fans that I am your first Test wicket. You know, I know, that it never happened. Okay? Now that you are done, let’s just clear the air. It never happened. Anyway buddy, awesome career. Congrats and welcome to the club, we are all out!.” Pietersen talked about the incident as quoted by Sportskeeda when the English batter lauded MS Dhoni for a wonderful career.
Pietersen also talked about MS Dhoni in an IPL commentary stint for Star Sports. There was a lot of speculation that 2023 would be MS Dhoni’s last season in IPL. However, Pietersen had a completely different opinion. He said with the impact player rule coming into the IPL, this will help MS Dhoni prolong his IPL career by a few more years. MS Dhoni has batted lower down the order in IPL 2023. He has played some wonderful cameos for CSK.
Although he has scored just 98 runs in 12 matches, the CSK skipper is striking at a rate of 196 with an average of 49. CSK with 15 points are placed second on the IPL 2023 points table. They have 15 points from 13 matches. MS Dhoni had said to Suresh Raina that he wanted to lead CSK to what could be a fifth IPL title this season.
Pietersen has always been a pioneer, be it the Switch-Hit or applying Vaseline on the bat to trick Hot Spot technology. You were his first wicket and you'll always know it.

Hahaha. People believed MS claim, can't blame them they will believe anything without cross checking the facts. But hey Dhoni did get Billy Bowden to raise his finger. So, that's a small win atleast. 🙂
