Heartbreak for Aditi Ashok despite creating history

Aditi Ashok was leading the women’s singles for the most part right from the first round. Aditi was one of the favourites to win the gold medal. But in the nervous moments, Aditi fell under pressure and conceded the lead to the Thailand’s golfer and fell short of the gold. Aditi had finished fourth in the women’s singles event in the Tokyo Olympics as well. This one turns out to be a heartbreak as well, despite creating history.

Meanwhile, in the women’s 57kg category, Parveen Hooda won her bout in the quarterfinal against Turdibekova of Afghanistan and assured a medal for herself. In the process, Parveen also claimed a place in the Paris Olympics 2024 in her event.
