The Asia Cup 2022 race is heating up as the tournament is in its Super Four stage with two encounters that have already taken place so far. Let us take a look at tomorrow’s encounter involving Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan suffered a loss in their first Super 4 encounter against Sri Lanka where the Lankan Lions chased down the target of 175 runs against the Afghans. In the first phase of Asia Cup 2022, Afghanistan had a great win against Sri Lanka which was the first game in the tournament which highlighted the batting and bowling prowess of the side. Later, they showcased how far they have come as a side in terms of their cricket by getting a dominating win against Bangladesh.

Pakistan have been in great form so far in the Asia Cup and gave it back to India by winning the Super Four game after losing to India in the 1st stage. Pakistan totally annihilated Hong Kong and got through to the Super four and won a close game against the arch-rivals to get there first super 4 points.

Mohammed Nawaz has starred both with the ball and the bat for Pakistan with 3 wickets against Hong Kong and a game changing 42 against India. Mohammad Rizwan has been in the form of his life and scored a superlative 71 which orchestrated a great run chase against India. With Rizwan likely to be ruled out with an injury, It is time for Babar Azam to find form and get back amongst the runs.

The fast-bowling group of Pakistan have been breathing fire and have been amongst the wickets. They would look to continue their form right through the tournament. The batting has been good too with Asif Ali and Khusdil Shah who have got crucial runs for the side. Pakistan will look to continue their winning momentum against Afghanistan.
