With rain predicted for Thursday, there is a good chance the game could see a washout. In that case, Sri Lanka will qualify for the finals. Sri Lanka’s run rate is -0.200, while Pakistan’s run rate is -1.892. In the case of the points being shared by the two teams, due to a better run rate, Sri Lanka will make it to the final. For Pakistan to make it to the final, they have to hope there is some game. All Babar Azam and his men have to do is beat Sri Lanka and take home the two points.
One should also remember that there is no reserve day for the games on Thursday and Friday. The next reserve day comes into effect during the finals with weather likely to interrupt once again. The Indian team meanwhile will be watching proceedings with a keen eye. It will be an emotionally charged game if Pakistan makes it to the final.
