Asia Cup 2022: 3 changes India might make to their playing XI despite beating Pakistan

India will play their next game against Hong Kong on Wednesday (August 31).

2) Ravichandran Ashwin in for Avesh Khan

India have taken three proper fast bowlers in their squad and decided to field all three in the first match. One of them was Avesh Khan, who bowled two overs for 19 and took a wicket in Sunday’s match. Avesh has not been economical in recent times. In the last T20I series against West Indies, he leaked runs in most of the matches.

Thereby, India should look to swap Ravichandran Ashwin for Avesh Khan. The veteran spinner can bowl at the powerplay and also the middle overs. He has the ability to squeeze in the flow of runs and pressurize the opposition. Also, Ashwin’s inclusion will lengthen the batting up to number eight. This will provide a batting cushion for a team who has adopted an aggressive batting approach.
