‘Ash reporting from Colombo’ – Fans react to Ravichandran Ashwin’s tweet on Colombo’s weather ahead of IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 game

The Asia Cup 2023 tournament is ready for a Super Sunday special. It is the India versus Pakistan game which is set to take place. The match is going to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India is playing their first game of the Super Four stage. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have begun the Super Four stage with wins against Bangladesh.

India play Pakistan for the second time with their opening encounter in the group phase being rained out. Their last meeting at Pallekele saw the Pakistani bowlers run riot against the Indian top-order. Ahead of the big clash, the focus is on the weather as it has been rumored that rain could hamper the game.

Ravichandran Ashwin posts timely weather update

Indian off-spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin isn’t part of the ODI team. That hasn’t stopped the Indian veteran from keeping his fingers on the pulse. Ashwin, like the rest of the fans, is waiting eagerly for the big game on Sunday. Taking to Twitter, Ashwin wrote, “That’s as pretty a clear morning as one can get for an #IndvsPak clash. Lots of tickets still available online for the game”. The Colombo skyline could be seen with blue skies and a clear day as there was no cloud cover. The city skyline saw bright sunshine to leave the fans with optimism for an entire game.

Indian team is set to welcome Jasprit Bumrah back into the playing XI. The big question will be who does Jasprit Bumrah replace in the XI? Mohammad Shami picked one wicket for 29 runs from his 7 overs against Nepal. Mohammad Siraj on the other hand proved to be a tad expensive. Siraj picked up 3/61 from his 9.2 overs but bowled with a lot of pace.

Another debate will be about KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan. The 31-year-old has come back fit and is odds on favorite to walk back into the team and reclaim his number 5 spot. The only problem is Ishan Kishan is in good form and scored 82 in the last game. There is a lot to ponder for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid as the clock ticks down to game time.
