India and Pakistan clashed at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in what was their third game this year after two Asia Cup rounds which ended in a stalemate. The clash got off to a booming start from India as Arshdeep Singh blew the top order duo of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan with wonderful pace bowling.

He dismissed Babar Azam leg before wicket with a ball tailing into the right-hander. The wicketkeeper batter, Rizwan out with a well-directed bouncer, the short ball was aimed at the body and cramped Rizwan for the room which ultimately resulted in his dismissal.

Arshdeep Singh was given a harsh reality of the cricket fandom last year when he was on the receiving end of a dropped catch in an Asia Cup encounter against the arch rivals. Now, he was seen twirling his moustache after his opening spell culminated.

The left-armer who had made giant strides into international cricket produced another wonderful short ball to get rid of Asif Ali, who became his third victim. He bowled beautifully in his four overs and had a dream debut in the 20-20 World Cup as he picked up 3-32 in his four over spell and delivered the goods in a high voltage clash against Pakistan. Life has, indeed, come a full circle for Arshdeep Singh.
