India is set to host the 2023 50-over World Cup this year in October. This will be the first time India will be hosting an entire World Cup. Earlier, Pakistan and India jointly hosted the event in 1987, and Sri Lanka and Pakistan co-hosted with India in 1996. In 2011, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and India got split hosting duties.

Meanwhile, amidst the dispute between India and Pakistan about Asia Cup and the World Cup, there is big news coming as all the matches of the Pakistan team will be organised in Bangladesh. The apex cricket body is currently discussing the plan for the Hybrid World Cup. Pakistan wants to answer India by not playing the 2023 World Cup in India as earlier the Indian Cricket Board chief Jay Shah refused to send the Indian Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

India will not play their Asia Cup matches in Pakistan

After India’s announcement, it was revealed in an ESPNcricinfo report that the Asia Cup 2023 dispute, which has been going on for the last 5 months, is almost on the verge of being resolved. Recently, in the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), it was confirmed that Pakistan will host the Asia Cup, during this it was also made clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan and they will play all their matches in some other country.

And now Pakistan have also made a similar plan to play its matches in the World Cup. It’d be interesting to see what’d be the Indian Cricket Board’s take on it. India have the richest cricket board in the world and if they even opt-out from the Asia Cup it won’t affect them much but the fans will not be pleased with this as they don’t want to miss the exciting clash between India and Pakistan. The last they faced in the 2022 20-20 World Cup, where India defeated them in a thrilling contest courtesy of Virat Kohli‘s brilliant knock.
