Would India find yet another Jhulan Goswami?

As things stand, it remains to be seen if the Indian team would find yet another Jhulan, given the new sensation Renuka Singh Thakur has been exceeding expectations, proving her prowess with every passing match. The Indian team would be hoping to find a perfect player to fill in Jhulan’s void and contribute with the ball for the team.

Regarding the Indian women’s brigade, the team lost to Australia in the five-match T20I series 4-1 and the only win came in the second match, with India winning the game in the super over and eventually ending the Australian women’s dominant streak. Opening up on the loss, India’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said that the team would look to bounce back and learn from their mistakes.

“We’ve been really good for the first 10-12 overs. But after that we haven’t been able to bowl the way we wanted because of the power they have. We knew the challenges we would have with Australia coming over, lots to improve and some good learnings. In the beginning, we were easily losing but now whoever goes out we are confident of winning. That self belief has been really important. We now have one month off, time to rest and regroup. The next challenge will be to focus on power hitting,” Kaur was quoted as saying after the series defeat.
