Animal’s first day at the box office around the world: Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal is off to a flying start. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film made history when it debuted in theatres on December 1st, with the highest non-holiday opening for a Hindi film. Animal grossed 116 crore at the global box office on its first day. The film’s producers announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Animal had a 116 crore opening day gross. This also confirms early estimates that Ranbir Kapoor’s crime drama will gross a whopping 100 crore globally. The film’s creators tweeted a poster with the caption, “The biggest non-holiday opening in Hindi cinema history 116 crores globally”

The Khans and the Deols have dominated the box office this year, with ‘Pathaan,’ ‘Jawan,’ ‘Gadar,’ and ‘Tiger 3’ doing massive business. However, ‘Animal’ has broken all records to become the year’s second-best opener, comfortably surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’. On day one, the SRK film grossed Rs 57 crore. On the other hand, ‘Jawan’ earned Rs 75 crore on the first day, retaining its crown.

Animal enters the big league:

Animal debuted alongside Meghna Gulzar’s period drama Sam Bahadur, starring Vicky Kaushal. Animal’s massive opening day takes place right in the middle of two Shah Rukh Khan films this year, Jawan (125.05 crores) and Pathaan (106 crores). Animal also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. Ranbir plays Anil Kapoor’s vengeful and angry son in the film. Ranbir is in top form and truly becomes Sandeep Reddy Vanga Vanga’s Animal. He’s the ideal combination of vulnerability and villainy. He makes you instantly fall in love with him, and even when he’s being shot or punched in the face, you feel sorry for him and never wish him dead.

While ‘Jawan’ remains the biggest opener, it should be noted that the film received a ‘U/A’ certificate. ‘Animal,’ on the other hand, has managed to hold these records despite receiving an ‘A’ certificate in India and an adult certification in the UK due to the violence and gory scenes. This is possibly the first time in Indian cinema history that a film with an ‘A’ certificate has earned Rs 100 crore worldwide on day one.
