‘Amir bhai masti nahi’ – Fans react as Pakistani pacer Mohammed Amir praises Virat Kohli with ‘Real King’ comment

Star India batter, Virat Kohli has been phenomenal with the bat in the last few months. He has been batting amazingly and winning games for his team. On Thursday night in an IPL match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kohli smashed a brilliant century while chasing a target of 187 runs. Kohli scored 100 runs off 63 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and four sixes.

With this, Kohli equaled the record of Chris Gayle’s most centuries in the Indian Premier League. This was Kohli’s sixth century in the league and first after four years. Due to his amazing batting performance, Kohli received praise and blessings from all around the globe.

Former Pakistan pacer Mohammed Amir also praised him and said, “What an inning by one and only the real king @imVkohli take a bow.”

Amir’s ‘one and only the real king’ comments left fans split on social media. It is being circulated as Amir’s indirect dig on Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. Fans often compare him with Kohli and call him King Babar in Pakistan. However, Kohli has been phenomenal in the ongoing tournament with 538 runs in 13 innings including a century and six half-centuries.

Notably, India is set to play test championship finals against Australia just a week after IPL 2023 finals. Speaking about the same Virat Kohli said,

“We have to play 12 months of the year. For me, it’s not about playing fancy shots and throwing my wicket away. We’ve got Test cricket (coming up) after the IPL, have to stay true to my technique. When I can make an impact in an important game, it gives me confidence, it gives the team confidence.”

Speaking about Kohli and his importance in the upcoming Test Championship final, Australia superstar Ricky Ponting said that he will be the prize. He said,

“I caught up with Virat (Kohli) about a month ago when we played them in Bangalore. And I had a good chat with him about his batting and where he was at and his career. And he said to me then that he feels like he’s almost back to his absolute best.”

“You probably saw that last night (Kohli’s ton against SRH), you know, he’s had a very good IPL and I’m sure he’ll be the prize wicket that all the Australians are looking forward to,” he further added. Notably, RCB is set to face Gujarat Titans in their last league game on Sunday and would like to beat them to qualify for the playoffs.
