David Warner’s recent social media activity confirms that he has a burning desire to carry on playing international cricket

David Warner’s performance in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023 was nothing short of remarkable. The veteran opener silenced his critics with a series of top-notch innings, amassing a tournament-high 535 runs from 11 matches. His average of 48.64 and strike rate of 108.30 were testaments to his superb determination.

Warner’s performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 was a fitting reminder of his status as one of the most prolific openers in modern cricket. He proved that age is just a number and that he still has the hunger and ability to perform at the highest level. His contributions were invaluable to Australia’s World Cup triumph, and he will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the stars of the tournament.

As the World Cup drew to a close, marking the end of another cricketing cycle, speculation has mounted over David Warner’s future in the sport. Warner has publicly stated his intention to retire from Test cricket following the upcoming series against Pakistan. However, he remains keen to continue playing white-ball cricket for the time being.

Recently, a leading cricket page had posted Warner’s stats in ODI World Cups along with the caption “David Warner’s ODI World Cup career ends with a glorious record”. Warner responded to the tweet by writing “Who said I’m finished??”, confirming that he has the desire to represent Australia in the 2027 edition as well.

“I am not done yet”

Today, he posted a picture on social media platform Instagram which had the image of a lion a lion along with the text “I am not done yet” which further proves that Warner is not thinking of hanging his boots anytime soon.

Given the form and fitness that he’s shown, Warner could well and truly carry on for a few more years. Former-Australian cricketer, Michael Hussey also echoed the same sentiments as earlier this week, he said that Warner’s ability to continue at international level rested more on desire than any physical traits.
