All we know about upcoming Valorant agent

Popular esports title Valorant is due to introduce a new playable agent in the game, and the community have now dug up remnants of the new agent through the Episode 8 Act 1 Battle Pass.

The card discovered shows a butterfly over what seems like an in-game smoke silhouette, heavily implying that the upcoming agent joining the roster will be a new controller.

Episode 7 of Valorant introduced two new Agents. These were, Deadlock who is the new sentinel, and Iso who acts as the new duelist. Apart from that, the game also introduced a new Map called Sunset.

Controllers as the name suggests are characters that usually take control of the playfield in an attempt to make attack or defence successful. On the attacking side, controllers work to help to create entry for their team. On the defence side, they help in denying entry to opponents.

As per a tween on X by popular Valorant leaker “ValorLeaks”, the new agent is named “SmokeDancer” who will be introduced in the upcoming Episode 8 Act 2 in March.

A fan speculation is linking the shade of colour to Reyna, a duelist inside the game, and calling the new character a relative of Reyna, namely Lucia Mondragon who believes there might be some sort of healing abilities in the kit.

As of now, Valorant has five controllers. These are –

Viper

Brimstone

Harbor

Omen

Astra

The addition of “SmokeDancer” will give another option to those who prefer playing while using their brains to outplay opponents. The first few weeks after release, many will see a competition among teammates to try and lock the new character first to test out the gameplay style and ability kit.
