The Indian 20-20 World Cup squad was announced a few days back and there was a lot of discussion about it from all sides. Some supported the side and some felt India have not picked the right squad to go for the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. There were two most burning questions which fueled a lot of debate among fans and experts from all across India.

The first one was Ravi Bishnoi being snubbed from the squad despite him putting up a top-class performance in the recent Asia Cup game against Pakistan where he picked up two wickets in his four-over spell. The game was one of high intensity and Bishnoi delivered the goods. But the selectors have gone for the experienced Ravichandran Ashwin over the rookie wrist spinner.

Mohammad Shami’s omission from the main squad was the other talking point among the cricket fanatics which left everybody surprised and shocked as to why the lead pacer is being meted out the harsh treatment despite showing that he is worth his weight in gold in the shortest format of the game and had a superb Indian T20 League season for the Gujarat side in the 2022 edition.

Cricket experts from all over India had their own opinions about the Indian squad for the 20-20 World Cup but Sunil Gavaskar ,the former Indian great, believes that the Indian squad is selected and now it is no use of debating who is in and who is out. The team has been selected and now the Indian management should make the best use of the personnel that they have got.

‘With a bit of luck the 20-20 World Cup could be ours’- Sunil Gavaskar

“I believe that this team, with a bit of luck that every team needs, can bring home the trophy,” Sunil Gavaskar said.

“Once the team is selected, then it’s our India team and we all have to back it. We shouldn’t question selections and omissions as it can demoralise some of the players,” he added.
