Ajay Jadeja takes massive swipe at Hardik Pandya over his fitness issues
Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja aimed Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya recently. The 51-year-old made a tongue-in-cheek comment about why the current Indian star is a ‘rare talent’.
Hardik Pandya has been out of action ever since getting injured during the ODI World Cup 2023 game against Bangladesh. The 30-year-old missed the rest of the tournament which saw India reach the finals and lost to Australia.
Ajay Jadeja trolls Hardik Pandya over his fitness –
Former India star Ajay Jadeja was recently live on Sports Tak’s YouTube Channel. During the chat, he was interviewed about Hardik Pandya’s tendency to get injured frequently. Ajay Jadeja said “You get a fast-bowling all-rounder very rarely”
Just when the interaction was about to move onto the next topic, Jadeja continued “You didn’t get the meaning. He is a very ‘rare’ talent, rarely seen on the field. Hai toh rare waise”. It is believed that Hardik Pandya is ready for a huge season ahead with the 2024 T20 World Cup just 6 months away.
Speaking about Ajay Jadeja, the former India star was the batting of Afghanistan during the ODI World Cup 2023. Working in tandem with coach Johnathon Trott, the 51-year-old saw the Afghans win 4 games during the showpiece event.
Ajay Jadeja also slammed the decision to exclude Ishan Kishan for the final two T20I games against Australia. “There was a series right after the World Cup. Ishan Kishan played three matches and went home (rested). Was he really that tired after three matches that he needed rest?
“He didn’t even play a lot of games at the World Cup. He deserved his spot in the playing XI for the first few World Cup matches. How many Indian players have scored a double century on a good day?” Ajay Jadeja questioned team management.
Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently praised Ishan Kishan while speaking on his YouTube channel. Ashwin said, “Ishan Kishan has a great attitude. I feel happy when he plays well. He’s someone who makes everyone happy, he keeps every player’s bat, gloves, and helmets ready and never complains when he sits out.”
With the 2024 T20 World Cup coming up, Jadeja felt that resting Ishan Kishan wasn’t a great idea. “Ishan Kishan didn’t even play the entire five-match T20I series against Australia. He was sent home (rested) after three matches to rest. So, if this is going to continue, how will you ensure that he is fully ready?”
