If you can make your placards interesting enough, you can end up catching the cameraman’s eye in a cricket match. Exactly the same thing occurred with a boy whose placard left the internet in splits. You might be wondering what made his banner so unique. A boy and a devoted supporter of Royal Challengers Bangalore held a poster in the stands that read, “Staying single until RCB wins IPL.”

Now, those who have followed the IPL since it began will be aware that RCB has never been able to take home the trophy. Netizens responded to this unidentified boy’s placard with humorous memes and jokes since they seemed to be concerned about him and some even said that he will remain single forever.

Talking about RCB’s last match in the 16th edition of the cash-rich league, they locked horns with LSG at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first, RCB got off to a terrific start courtesy of their experienced opening duo of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Kohli assumed the role of the aggressor at the start of the innings, racing to 50 off just 35 balls just after the powerplay finished. He departed in the 12th over for 61 off 44 balls, having smashed four fours and four sixes.

Brilliant batting performance by Nicholas Pooran

Glenn Maxwell came at number three, and the big-hitting Australian provided the fireworks. Maxwell and du Plessis, who also picked up the pace following Kohli’s departure, dispatched the Lucknow bowlers to all parts of the ground in their 115-run stand. Maxwell was dismissed on the penultimate ball of the innings, having scored 59 off 29 with three fours and six sixes, while skipper du Plessis remained unbeaten on 79 off 46, with five fours and five sixes as Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 212/2 in their 20 overs.

Chasing, LSG started badly as they lost their 3 wickets on the score of just 23 runs, however, later, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran produced a breathtaking knock which brought LSG back into the game. On the last ball of the final over, Lucknow needed one run to win and Avesh Khan was on strike, he got beaten by Harshal Patel but Dinesh Karthik could not collect the ball properly behind the wickets, and taking advantage of this, the batsmen took one run as bye and won the match on the last ball of the match.
