‘Agle saal aana phir se karenge’ – Fans react as Naveen-ul-Haq says he enjoyed ‘Kohli-Kohli’ chants during IPL 2023 Eliminator
In Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Naveen-ul-Haq will be recognised more for his social media and on-field antics than for his ability to take wickets. Because of how he squared off with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli in Lucknow when their teams faced off, the ugly altercation shadowed his cricketing prowess.
The supporters have taken notice of the argument and have been chanting “Kohli, Kohli” loudly during at least three of Lucknow Super Giants’ most recent games, including on Wednesday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The audience would erupt each time he reached the top of the bowling label, gave up a boundary, or bowled a wide.
Naveen-ul-Haq gives statement to the media regarding crowd chants in the IPL 2023 Eliminator
The Afghanistan athlete claimed that, rather than being deterred by it, such actions inspire him. “I enjoy it. I like everyone on the ground chanting his (Virat Kohli) name or any other player’s name. It gives me the passion to play well for my team. Well I don’t concentrate on the outside or the noise from outside or anything else. I just focus on my own cricket and my own process. Crowd chanting or anyone saying something doesn’t affect me. As professional sportsmen, you have to take this in your stride. One does when you don’t good for your team, fans are going to give it to you. And when you do good for your team, the same people are going to chant your name. Basically, this is part and parcel of the game.”
The Mumbai Indians returned to form just in time, as all of their players contributed to their spectacular elimination-round win against the Lucknow Super Giants. After a strong start to the pursuit by the Lucknow team, their bowling, which had been an issue of significant mark throughout the season, proved its mettle as the squad was able to pick up 8 wickets for just 32 runs. Mumbai Indians ultimately defeated Lucknow Super Giants by a score of 81 runs to win the match and advance on in the league and will now face the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 on Friday.

He has done all this by himself. He should just apologise to all the fans on the same IG story where he started all this and things will become normal.

He did well for his team by giving away over 120 runs in 3 matches with economy rate of 10. Nice bruh.
