‘Advice chahiye toh merko phone kardo’- Krishnamachari Srikkanth calls out Indian selectors

Srikkanth told in Hindi that Chetan Sharma can call him anytime if needs advice. He added that Sharma can also call Ravi Shastri if needed

India has been trying the trial-and-error method ahead of the 20-20 World Cup. India has seen seven captains for the year so far, and there have been significant changes in the batting order. Suryakumar Yadav opened the innings for India in the previous T20I against West Indies.

Amid all this, Krishnamachari Srikkanth told to Fancode that the selector Chetan Sharma must select the right team. He said that Sharma must come up with the best team for the 20-20 World Cup. Srikkanth also admitted that the trial-and-error method is totally fine.

Srikkanth told in Hindi that Chetan Sharma can call him anytime if needs advice. He added that Sharma can also call Ravi Shastri if needed. Srikkanth told that they both can give good advice to Sharma. He added that the trial-and-error method must be followed from the Asia Cup only.

“If they pick the right combination then Chetan Sharma, who has played a lot of cricket with us… ee, Chetu (Chetan) aab correct team select karna. Advise chaiye toh mereko phone kardo, Ravi (Shastri) ko call kardo, humdono aacha guidance denge aapko” (Hey Chetam, select the correct team this time. If you need any advice, call me, call Ravi. Both of us can give you good guidance),” Srikkanth told to Fancode.

“This trial and error methodology that they are doing is absolutely fine, what the selectors are doing is fine. But from the Asia Cup, they have to do it,” Srikkanth highlighted.

India’s method has so far been working. However, the batting order changes are yet to provide significant results. Rishabh Pant opened the innings once. And in the last match, it was Suryakumar Yadav who opened the innings. Although the Sharma-Yadav duo put on 44 runs for the opening wicket, analysts were not able to understand the concept.

India will play the second T20I against West Indies tomorrow. And who’ll open alongside Rohit Sharma is a question that still remains a suspense. If at all they go with Suryakumar Yadav again, then it might mean we are in for some interesting batting order changes.
