This 199 by KL Rahul came in the same innings in which Nair made merry with his triple-ton. Rahul’s innings was a display of attacking flair and elegant strokeplay. He took the attack to the English bowlers from the outset, peppering the boundaries with his fluent drives and cuts.
His innings comprised 16 boundaries and 3 sixes and while he fell agonizingly short of a double century, his innings set the tone for India’s dominance in the Test.
