‘Accha chalta hoon agle IPL tak yaad rakhna’ – Fans baffled as KL Rahul ruled out of IPL 2023, set to miss Test Championship final

Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2023. During the reverse fixture of the tournament between LSG and Royal Challengers Bangalore, he got injured while chasing the ball. Rahul came out to bat at number 11 in the game but couldn’t run. His side lost the game by 18 runs. After the game, it was said that the right-hander will be assessed.

However, ahead of their washed-out game against Chennai Super Kings, it was reported by CricBuzz that Rahul is ruled out of the tournament. The Indian Cricket Board took over his case and it was likely that he won’t participate in the tournament anymore. Krunal Pandya led the team in the game against CSK in which only the Super Giants batted.

KL Rahul has been ruled out of the Test Championship final too

On the other hand, the Bangalore player has been ruled out of the upcoming Test Championship final against Australia next month. The summit clash will be played at The Oval, London on June 7. Even though Rahul was certain not to be part of the playing XI, he is now ruled out of the game. The team management and selectors might seek a replacement.

At this point, there is no statement from the board or the franchise about Rahul’s injury. It is understood that he had a hip injury. Meanwhile, the board will be looking carefully into this. Not to forget, last year, he went through groin surgery which he pulled ahead of the five-match T20I series against South Africa in June last year.

On the other hand, his teammate in the Lucknow side, Jaydev Unadkat might be ruled out of the IPL but might be available for the Test Championship. He sustained a shoulder injury during a net session as he fell off while bowling from round the wicket angle. Apparently, his leg got stuck in the ropes that keep the nets intact.
