West Indies and India locked horns in the 5th T20I at Lauderhill in Florida. India won the toss and opted to bat. This was the series decider as it was tied at 2-2. The pitch looked slightly different from the 4th T20I. The Men in Blue got off to a torrid start as they lost Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill both to Akeal Hosein.

At 17-2, West Indies strangled India. Barring Suryakumar Yadav who hit 61 off 45 balls with four fours and three sixes. He had some support from Tilak Varma who made 27 off 18 balls with three fours and two sixes. Other than the left-hander no one else could get going.

Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel departed cheaply. Due to lack of batting depth in the lower order India could muster a below-par 165-9 in their 20 overs. For West Indies, they bowled as a unit and kept India on a leash. Romario Sheperd was the star with the ball for the Men in Maroon as he took 4-31 in his four overs spell.

Brandon King hit a cracking 85 off 55 balls for West Indies

In the second innings, The Indian bowlers could not get any inroads into the West Indies batting lineup—Brandon King who had an excellent series till now but could not get the big one. The right-hander smoked the Indian bowling attack all over the place as he smashed an unbeaten 85 off 55 balls with five fours and six sixes.
