‘Ab ye kya majra hai’ – Fans react as TV audiences deprived of special ceremony ahead of match between India and Pakistan in ODI WC 2023
The television viewers have a piece of sad news ahead of the match between India and Pakistan. The special ceremony which will see the performances from the likes of Arijit Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, and Shankar Mahadevan is set to be not televised for unknown reasons. The announcement came from Star Sports, as they disappointed the fans who were following the match on TV.
Taking to X, Star Sports wrote “The pre-match ceremony for the #INDvPAK game today will not be televised as it is only for the stadium audience. We have you covered for the rest- the match, the highlights & everything in between! Tune in to #INDvPAK in the #WorldCupOnStar LIVE NOW | Star Sports Network.” The move from Star Sports did not go well with the TV audiences. Many expressed their disappointment for the same.
“The ceremony at the Narendra Modi stadium before the match 12 of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 (India v Pakistan) has been planned for in-stadia fans. The ceremony is not for broadcast,” added the statement from Star Sports. The fans who were expecting to watch their favourite singers perform in the event are highly disappointed. The hosts are getting criticized for their act.
Players from both teams arrive in the stadium for the match
Despite the unconvincing move of Star Sports, the fans are showing their enthusiasm for the match. The players arrived in the stadium for the match between India and Pakistan. As the Indian players arrived at the stadium, there were huge cheers for the home players. The deafening sound in the stadium sent chills to the fans watching the match in the stadium.
The move of the hosts to not have an opening ceremony, but to have a special ceremony for the match between India and Pakistan did not go well with the fans. But the anguish seems to be on a different level after hearing that the special ceremony is arranged for the fans who are in the stadium. The move of the broadcasters has been responsible for heavy criticism from the fans who are watching the match from small and medium screens.
