In the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Delhi Capitals is set to host Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. In the day game, Delhi Capitals is set to Don a special rainbow jersey to celebrate the diversity of India. Notably, since 2020 DC has worn the jersey once per season.
However, CSK needs to win this game against DC to stay in the race for playoffs and qualifier 1. Meanwhile, Delhi based franchise has never lost a game in the rainbow jersey and would like to continue its dominance. The team has beaten Punjab Kings in their last game at the HPCA cricket stadium in Dharamshala.
In the Last season, the players donned the jersey against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their opening encounter of the second half of the season, after which it was auctioned off to help the Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) in Vijayanagar, Karnataka. DC on social media revealed the jersey and said, “Ending our #IPL2023 campaign on a note! Our boys will be donning these special threads in our last home match of the season at #QilaKotla! #YehHaiNayiDilli #DCvCSK.”

CSK has to win the IPL 2023 match to qualify for the knockout and have a chance to place in the top two in the league stage. If MS Dhoni’s team loses their final game, their destiny will be defined by the loss of either of the two teams in the remaining ties. The teams are Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore who are set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans in their last league game on Sunday.
On the other hand, It might be MS Dhoni’s last game at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. There are strong rumours that Dhoni is set to retire from the Indian Premier League after this season. Speaking about the same Mohammed said, “I think MSD has given enough hints that this is his last IPL. He’s keeping the world guessing and that’s been his nature. But I have this intuition that Dhoni will not be playing the IPL next year,” Kaif said while speaking on Star Sports’ Cricket Live.
