‘Ab saara umeed khatam’- Fans react after Virat Kohli gets out after scoring 49 in WTC final on Day 5
As India and Australia battled it out at the Oval in the World Test Championship (WTC) final on Day 5, India did not get off to the best of start as Scott Boland saw the back of Virat Kohli with a ripper of a catch from Steve Smith. The ball was full and wide on the off-stump and Kohli could not resist. He went with hard hands while playing the drive, it got a thick edge and the ball flew to the right of the second slip. Smith flew himself to the right, he went with both hands and completed an amazing catch.
The misery continued for India as Ravindra Jadeja was also drawn into a shot and dismissed two balls later. The ball from Boland was angled into the left-hander and it had some late away movement from Jadeja which made the left-hander play the drive, as a result, the outside edge was found and the ball went straight into the hands of Alex Carey the Australian wicketkeeper. India was behind right from the start of the WTC final.
Australia secured a 173-run lead in the first innings of the World Test Championship final
The Men in Blue failed to seize the start at 76-3 in the first innings. Then, the partnership, which was 285 runs, between Steven Smith and Travis Head changed the course of the match. Both the batters scored centuries, which allowed Australia to get to a huge total of 469 in the first innings. Then, the Kangaroos were in great rhythm with the ball. They troubled the Indian top order and kept India down to just 296. This helped the Australians to secure a 173-run lead.
In the second innings, although India bowled better, the Australian batters managed to get more than a couple of vital 40s to help them declare at 270-8. When the declaration came, India was tasked with chasing a big target of 444 runs to win. The Indian top order did not impress in the second innings as well.

Such a beautiful bowling performance by #Australia perfect rhythm.
#ViratKohli a legend Nope he isn’t. In such a crucial match when the entire nation is eyeing on you how can you pick such a stupid shot selection.
You don’t need to play every delivery on front-foot. That’s…
