Jasprit Bumrah is one of the main weapons of the Indian bowling attack. The right-arm quick has various skills as a bowler, which makes him one of the best players in the world. The star bowler did not play international cricket for more than 10 months due to a couple of injuries. The 29-year-old made a comeback to international cricket by leading India to a series in Ireland in T20Is.

In the series, Bumrah claimed 4 wickets in 2 matches at a bowling average of just 9.75, at an economy of 4.88. The Indian pacer got the Player of the Match award in his comeback game and won the Player of the Series award for his bowling performances and captaincy in the series. The fitness of the Ahmedabad-born bowler ensured his place in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023.

In the ongoing Asia Cup, Bumrah played the match against Pakistan and scored 16 runs in 14 balls as a lower-order batter. Unfortunately, the star bowler did not get an opportunity to bowl as rain had the last laugh. Ahead of India’s next match against Nepal, India has received a blow. The Indian team will be without the services of its premier fast bowler for the clash against Nepal.

Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of match against Nepal in Asia Cup 2023

According to the reports, Bumrah left for Mumbai due to personal reasons. While it is unsure why Bumrah left, the reports suggest that Bumrah is ruled out of the match against Nepal. Reports also suggest that the Indian spearhead will be back for the Super 4 stage, where the challenge will be huge.

India will have to face the likes of Pakistan and other teams like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, or Afghanistan in the upcoming stage. In the absence of Bumrah, Mohammed Shami is likely to be in the playing XI of India against Nepal. It might be a like-to-like replacement for India, as both are world-class bowlers. India is unlikely to make any other changes against Nepal.
