India announced the squad for the remaining two Test matches in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The big change in the squad was that the Indian side did not name a vice-captain against the Kangaroos for the Tests at Indore and Ahmedabad. KL Rahul was Rohit Sharma’s deputy in the first two Tests against Australia.

Rahul has had a torrid run of form with the bat in Test matches and has not lived up to the expectations of leading the Indian side from the front as vice-captain. It is not known whether Rahul was removed from the post or he voluntarily stepped down. On the other hand, there was a big showdown between Akash Chopra and Venkatesh Prasad recently on KL Rahul’s numbers in Test Cricket.

Jaydev Unadkat comes back into the Test squad after being released to play Ranji Trophy Final

When it comes to the Indian Test squad in the final two Tests, Jaydev Unadkat, who was released to play the Ranji Trophy final from the second Test in Delhi, comes back into the side. The rest of the squad remains the same.

India also annoyed the ODI squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Jaydev Unadkat got an ODI recall after 10 years. He has come into the ODI squad as a likely replacement for Arshdeep Singh, which has come as a big surprise. The ODIs will be played from the 17th of March just before the start of the Indian T20 League.

India took a 2-0 lead in the Test match series against Australia by winning by an innings and 132 runs at Nagpur. In the second Test in Delhi, India won by 6 wickets to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India have won the last three editions of the Border- Gavaskar Trophy, one at home and two away in Australia.
