Star India batter KL Rahul is set to make a comeback after rehabbing from a thigh injury. In a recent social media post, Rahul hinted at his comeback as he posted a picture of himself. “Starting to feel like me again”, Rahul captioned his Instagram post. This has led fans to speculate about the comeback of the Indian batting star.

Notably, Rahul injured himself while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants in the recently concluded Indian Premier League 2023. Due to this injury, Rahul had to leave the IPL midway through, and he also withdrew his name from the World Test Championship squad. In June, Rahul underwent massive surgery in the UK and is currently rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy.

Rahul appeared in nine IPL 2023 matches for LSG before being sidelined with an injury. The opening batter performed decently by scoring 274 runs in nine games with a strike rate of 113.22. However, to the delight of his admirers, the cricketer has hinted that he is close to full fitness.

When will KL Rahul make a comeback?

KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah could return to the Indian team during the Asia Cup in 2023. According to some media reports, team management is looking forward to getting them back in the squad. “KL Rahul’s recovery is going well. He should be fit in a month or so. Returning from surgery is always tricky, and he is a very important player in the World Cup. Iyer’s progress is slow, but we are still hopeful that he will recover by the World Cup. But at this moment, it’s not a certainty with Iyer”, said a senior official of the Indian cricket board.

Notably, India is scheduled to participate in the Asia Cup in 2023. The continental tournament will start on August 31 in hybrid mode. According to the proposed model, Pakistan will host the first four games of the tournament, while Sri Lanka will host nine games, including the finals and India’s matches. This came after India refused to tour Pakistan for a tournament.
