‘Aaja mera Raja Beta’ – Fans react as Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli dance to ‘Jhoome jo Pathaan’ after KKR vs RCB game
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) went head-to-head at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This was the first Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the venue after four years. KKR gave their fans a happy homecoming as they beat RCB by 81 runs. Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur were the main architects of the win. The duo made 46 and 68 respectively. They rescued KKR from a sticky situation at 89-5.
After the match, Virat Kohli and Shah Rukh Khan were seen doing some dance steps from the song Jhoome Jo Pathaan. Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan was a recent hit, and the Indian players were seen doing the dance steps to the same song in one of the ODI series at home. The duo hugged each other warmly and had an interaction after the match. Shah Rukh has revealed in previous interviews that he likes watching Kohli bat.
RCB’s death bowling did not fire in the match against KKR at Eden Gardens
RCB’s death bowling woes and Thakur’s epic batting display cost them the match. RCB need to pull their socks up and find a good combination to bowl at the death. Both RCB and KKR have won a game and lost one so far in the competition. Faf du Plessis’s side have been hit by injuries. Reece Topley has been ruled out of the IPL due to dislocated shoulder. Josh Hazelwood is also nursing an Achilles tendonitis injury. Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the tournament due to a heel injury.
RCB should look to get replacements to shore up their bowling lineup which appears weak at this stage. Mohammed Siraj has not been at his best and has had a hard time at the death overs. KKR also have had their fair share of problems with Shakib Al Hasan going out of the tournament to play for Bangladesh. Jason Roy was brought in place of Shakib Al Hasan.
KKR have won two IPL titles. Whereas RCB have not been able to win an IPL title. The tournament is still in its early stages and teams are still figuring out the right combination. The teams will look to polish themselves going further into the competition.
