‘A moment for the ages’- Fans react as Virat Kohli gives Rashid Khan signed jersey after GT vs RCB game in IPL 2023
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans played a wonderful game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore where GT were too hot to handle for RCB. The Bold Army could only get to a score of 197-5 in their 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored his second hundred in as many games in IPL 2023. The former RCB skipper made 101 off 61 balls with 13 fours and one six. But GT overhauled the target in 19.1 overs. Shubman Gill scored a pristine 104 off 52 balls with five fours and eight sixes.
After the match, there was a very warm moment that involved Kohli and Rashid Khan. Virat Kohli gifted Rashid Khan a signed jersey and hugged him. It was a beautiful sight. Kohli and Rashid have taken the IPL by storm. Rashid has been a match-winner with bat and ball for Sunrisers Hyderabad and GT. Kohli is one of the bona-fide greats of the IPL considering his sheer volume of runs and centuries.

The RCB players also did a lap around the Chinnaswamy Stadium. They sincerely thanked the fans for their support and their unwavering loyalty to the franchise. The Bold Army finished sixth in IPL 2023. RCB did well and there were some positives for them. But the negatives outweighed them. The middle order was very brittle for them throughout IPL 2023. Other than Mohammed Siraj no one else delivered for them with the ball.
The batting was overdependent on Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell. RCB were hit by a fair share of injuries too. The likes of Reece Topley, David Wiley, Josh Hazelwood and others. They were not able to put in consistent performances over a period of 14 games. RCB playing matches on flat tracks at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium did not help their cause as well. RCB also lost two close games at home against Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants which proved to be the difference in the end.
This was the first time the Bold Army did not make it to the playoffs in four seasons. They finished fourth this season. The Indian youngsters should have stepped up and delivered more game-changing performances. Dinesh Karthik’s dwindling returns were also a big setback for RCB.

Even RCB sign Rashid they won’t win anything. Their only problem is home ground Chinnaswamy stadium with small boundaries.
