‘A friend who brought smiles…’ Shahnawaz Dahani’s heartfelt tweet on Shaun Tait leaves social media in frenzy

After Pakistan lost the third ODI against New Zealand, Pakistan Pacer Shahnawaz Dahani put out a heartfelt tweet for Shaun Tait, who is currently the bowling coach of Pakistan. The tweet sent social media into a daze and many of them were wondering as to why it was posted. People thought that Shaun Tait was not in good health while some of them also suspected that, perhaps, the Aussie was sackedz.

“A friend who brought smiles, left last night with tears. #ShaunTait,” Dahani wrote on Twitter. He shared a picture with the former Australian pace bowler with a broken heart emoji. Then he clarified that he was talking about the Pakistan Team “Ary bhai Pakistan Cricket Team k baat kar rha hon he said after people were bewildered and felt that Tait had passed away.

Shaun Tait’s contract ends in February

The Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to inform about the bowling coach and what will be his future with Pakistan. Tait’s contract is going to culminate in February. Regarding the replacement of the Pakistan bowling coach, Umar Gul has emerged as the leading candidate to take over. The PCB however has not had word with Gul on this matter.

“It is an honor to work for the national team. After I retired from international cricket, I always wanted to work for my team as a coach, but PCB never approached me,” He said on Express News. The former Pakistan right-arm pacer has picked up 163 Test wickets and 179 ODI wickets against his name, He previously worked as the bowling coach for Afghanistan. He had stepped down from the post recently.

The Pakistan Team have not had a good home season on the back of a 3-0 Test loss against England. Then they drew the two Tests against New Zealand. The series ended 0-0. Then they lost the ODI series to the Kiwis 2-1. There have been reports that Babar Azam will be replaced as Test skipper and One-Day captain of Pakistan. The front-runner to replace him is Shan Masood as he is presently the vice-captain of the Pakistan Team in ODIs.
