England and Ireland are clashing in a Test match in Lords. England won the toss and chose to bowl. The three Lions started off by hitting the right notes. The bowlers hit the right lines and lengths and put the Irish batters under pressure. Peter Moor and Andy Balbirnie were back in the hut for not too many on the board. The Irish were tottering at 15-3. James McCollum staged a resistance and hit a 36 off 108 balls with five fours but he was caught by Joe Root off Stuart Broad.
Other than the opener, Paul Sterling and Curtis Campher hit 30s, but it was not enough as Ireland was skittled down to 172 in the first innings. In the second innings, The England batters showed how it’s done on home soil. Ben Duckett struck a glorious ton against Ireland which was the second one in his Test career. Duckett is currently batting on 124 off 130 balls with 16 fours.
It was a knock of authority from Duckett. Throughout his innings, he played equally well across the front foot and also the back foot. When he got to the century, he pumped his fist and did a big celebration. Duckett got a standing ovation from the Lord’s crowd, who stood up and applauded a top knock when England needed to set the tone in the game. Duckett also put up a century stand with Olie Pope.
Zak Crawley also did beautifully at the top as he made a cracking 56 off 45 balls with 11 fours. England has signalled that they will continue to play the bazball way in this Test match and also in the upcoming Ashes series which will be played at home. England has done brilliantly in Test cricket with series wins against Pakistan where they beat the Men in Green 3-0 in Pakistan.
The World Test Championship final will be held at the Oval. India and Australia will face each other in the marquee clash. The Dukes ball will be used for the marquee clash. It promises to be an enthralling contest of Test cricket coming from two high-quality teams.

Ben Duckett's hundred is the first by an England opener in a home Test for two years – Rory Burns v New Zealand at Lord's in 2021.

100 for Ben Duckett.
Could well be the latest player who struggles in Test cricket, gets dropped comes back later and cracks it.
Graham Gooch, Andrew Flintoff, Matthew Hayden & Damien Martyn are four examples of this. #ENGvIRE— All Hail Queen Zelina (@bainalan05) June 2, 2023
Just heard on the radio, Ben Duckett has left 1.2% of his deliveries while opening for England.
Previous openers averaged between 18-25%— Richard J Green (@greenlightsom) June 2, 2023
A perfunctory hundred for Ben Duckett against what must be the worse test attack in the games history
