Microsoft partners with Palworld to promote Xbox

In an official post by Xbox, the company was spotted promoting their gaming consoles with Palworld. This does not come as a surprise, as Palworld is now one of the biggest games of 2024.

For those who still do not know, Palworld is currently 2024’s latest hit game that has been developed by Pocketpair. It is a survival game mixed with monster-catching elements similar to Pokémon. Most people are calling this Pokémon with guns.

In the post, Xbox wrote, “Fun fact: XboxGamePass comes with Pals,” pointing to the game as well as playing with friends online. This also works great for Xbox, as Palworld is currently only available for Xbox and PC.

The reason why it is not on PS5 is due to the early access tag. Palworld is still in early access, so there are a lot of changes and additions that are promised by the developers. However, Sony does not allow early access to the games on PlayStation.

The partnership also benefits Pocketpair

Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld, recently revealed that the game has reached over 19 million players. That is a huge number of players for an indie early-access game. Teaming up with one of the gaming giants will help them attract even more players.

CEO of the game Takuro Mizobe recently shared the monthly server cost of Palworld. He revealed that the monthly server fee for Palworld is reaching almost $500k. He jokingly said, “Wait, maybe they’ll go bankrupt due to server fees?”

Microsoft has already announced its plan to help Palworld by offering the studio engineering resources and dedicated servers. This will come as a huge benefit to the developers as they can further focus on development.

The hype for many early-access games ultimately dies down after a few months. However, if the developers make an effort to add interesting content, they can very much keep the show going.
