During the most recent livestream regarding the upcoming Halo Infinite update, 343 have revealed that there will be no season 6. Instead, the game will be moving on to short “Operations” with a 20-tier battle pass.
While a lot of things are coming to the new update of the game/ Moving forward, this will be operations will be the norm for Halo Infinite.
“We have a dedicated team working on supporting Halo Infinite and continuing to deliver coming forward, but also, we have additional teams now that are accelerating towards the future working on brand-new projects,” said community director Brian Jarrard.
One of the greatest fears of fans is about to become reality, as the new “operations” mark the beginning of the end for Halo Infinite support. A similar approach was also made to the Halo Master Chief Collection.
The game is currently in a very good state with many players returning. However, the reception on release was not what the company had hoped for. There was a large number of players on launch, however, a majority dropped the game as it was missing core features.
This included limited map pools, limited modes, weapons and many other quality-of-life features. Forge, the custom level creator, which was one of the most anticipated things in the game, was also not available on launch.
Will the “operations” mark the end of Halo Infinite’s support?
While it is hard to tell if this will be the end of support, a large number of Halo players believe this is how it ends. Only time will tell how well the new update model does.
Maybe 343 Industries is planning its next Halo instalment and does not want to mess it up. However, they will need to do a lot more than a few maps and modes to win back their fans this time.
