KL Rahul is one of those players who has constantly missed playing international cricket due to injuries lately. Since 2022, the Karnataka batter has missed many matches for the Indian team and his IPL team due to injuries. For the second half of the Indian Premier League in 2023, KL Rahul did not play due to a thigh injury.
As a result, Krunal Pandya was appointed the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants for the remainder of the season. Rahul got a thigh injury in May and has been in his rehabilitation since then. For the same reason, the 31-year-old was excluded from the Indian team which toured England for the finals of the World Test Championship against Australia at The Oval.
Rahul did not feature in the Test, ODI, and T20I series against West Indies for the same reason. According to the reports, Rahul was not fit for any of the above-mentioned series. In recent days, Rahul has been posting images and videos of him working hard to regain his fitness. The batter has been posting content related to his recovery.

As the Indian squad for the Asia Cup 2023 is set to be announced soon, all eyes are on the players who could potentially be selected for the series. According to the initial reports, the likes of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer were yet to recover from their injuries. It was assumed that the two middle-order batters may not feature in the series.
But the latest reports regarding Rahul’s fitness suggest that the Mangalore-born cricketer is fit and will be available for the Asia Cup 2023. The India middle order batter is being tested with a lot of players, as the two regulars, Iyer and Rahul, were not match fit. The return of KL Rahul, if the reports are to be believed, will be crucial for the Indian team. It will reduce the experiments of Indian management.
