India are struggling at the moment in the bowling department without their fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah. The team suffered losses in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 in his absence. At the moment, it is not only the Indian pacer suffering from injury. His counterpart from Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is also nursing an injury.
It is currently an enormous loss to international cricket as both Shaheen Shah Afridi and Jasprit Bumrah share 538 wickets across all formats and fans cannot see them performing at the big stage.
Amidst the dull period, former Pakistani all-rounder, Abdul Razzaq has come out with a verdict regarding both players. The 43-year-old said that Shaheen Shah Afridi is the best between the two pacers. He made the statement in an interview with paktv.tv
“Shaheen is too good. Bumrah doesn’t even come close to him,” Razzaq recently told paktv.tv.
Shaheen Shah Afridi is nursing a knee injury at the moment after PCB ruled him out of the Asia Cup and joined the ICC T20 World Cup while carrying minor knocks. His injury was aggravated during the finals when he slid to save the boundary against England in the finals.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah is yet to return to the national team after he suffered a stress fracture in his back. Though the player was added to the series against Sri Lanka, the Indian Cricket Board withdrew the player after an update from the medical team. The right-arm pacer is out of cricketing action since September 2022. Sympathizing with Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma had previously said:
“Very unfortunate. The poor guy has been working really hard at the NCA. He felt stiffness in his back a couple of day ago and if Jasprit Bumrah is saying he is not feeling well, you have to pull him out. We need to be extra careful with Bumrah”, the Indian captain said.
