1. First Player to Win Gold at the BWF Championship: 

PV Sindhu is the first Indian to clinch a gold in the BWF World Championship. She defeated Nozomi Okuhara in the final by 21-7 , 21-7, completely routing her to win the gold. She won this final in 2019. Before getting the gold medal, she already had two silvers in her kitty in 2017 and 2018 events in Badminton.
