2. Chris Jericho faced off against Dolph Ziggler in 2013

One of the great moments of every Rumble is when the first two entrants are introduced. The build-up of months of anticipation finally comes to a head when those first two stars enter the ring. In the 2013 Royal Rumble when Dolph Ziggler was the first participant, fans went crazy when Chris Jericho’s music played to indicate that he would be entering as number two.

This worked brilliantly since Ziggler had defeated Jericho five months prior, in a bout in which Jericho put his WWE contract on the line. While Jericho now comes and goes as he pleases, there was no expectation that he would return in time for the Royal Rumble.
