Dean Elgar and Faf du Plessis each scored 100 runs for South Africa in the Boxing Day Test match against West Indies in 2014. They shared the second wicket for over 63 overs. Middle-order AB de Villiers was prepared to bat but elected to take a nap while still wearing his cricket gear because the West Indies spinners were unable to break the partnership for a significant amount of time.
